Cultural Commission Congress in Vaduz
On September 10, 2025, Vaduz became the center of cultural exchange: the Vaduz Cultural Commission hosted the 2nd Cultural Commission Congress of the cultural commissions of all municipalities in the country. The venue was the atmospheric Kellertheater in the Vaduzer Saal, whose special atmosphere provided the ideal setting for an evening full of inspiration, encounters and exchange.
Deputy Mayor and Chair of the Vaduz Cultural Commission, Antje Moser, welcomed the numerous representatives of the cultural commissions. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of joint cultural initiatives that have an impact beyond municipal borders: "Culture unites - and it thrives on dialog. This congress is an important step towards exchanging experiences and maintaining a network."
Literature and jazz in dialog
The focus of this year's congress was on literature - accompanied by the musical jazz sounds of the band Schuani's. As a literary highlight, Vaduz author Doris Röckle read passages from her work "Der Wagemut der Burgtochter". Her powerful reading offered a deep insight into the thoughts of a writer and at the same time opened up a view of the historical period of the Swabian War of 1499.
Afterwards, Alexandra Schädler, Cultural Officer of the municipality of Vaduz, led a lively discussion with the author and the audience. Under the title "From the first word to the finished work - paths of literature", topics such as the creative writing process, the development of projects and the challenges of finding funding were highlighted. The suggestions for strengthening the promotion of literature proved to be particularly valuable, even if some aspects - such as nationwide platforms - cannot be supported by municipalities alone. There was a consensus that literature should be increasingly integrated into existing events in order to create broader access.
Culinary delights and conviviality
The official program was followed by a culinary highlight: Martha Bühler served traditionally prepared cheese dumplings - a piece of lived regionality that strengthened the community around the table.
The atmospheric finale was provided by the musicians from Schuani's, who transformed the Kellertheater into a place full of lightness and rhythm with the lively sounds of Golden Swing Jazz.
Conclusion: Culture unites
The 2nd Cultural Commission Congress impressively demonstrated the importance of joint platforms for cultural exchange. Culture not only lives in the individual municipalities, but develops its full radiance through networking and encounters.
Culture Commissioner Alexandra Schädler summed it up with an image at the end: "Culture in Liechtenstein is like a plate of cheese dumplings: grown from simple ingredients, prepared with love, rich in flavor - and most beautiful when shared with one another."
