Hofstätte Hintergass 35/37 awarded
The municipality of Vaduz is delighted and proud to announce that architect Beat Burgmaier has been awarded the prestigious best architects award 26 - one of the most important architecture prizes in Europe - for the project "Renovation/conversion of the listed Hintergass courtyard".
The award-winning conversion of the building, which is over 500 years old, is an example of a sensitive yet forward-looking approach to our architectural heritage. In close cooperation with the Department for the Preservation of Monuments at the Office for Culture and all those involved, a place was created that respects the history of the building and at the same time opens up new perspectives for its use.
The two vacation apartments that have been created reflect the high quality of traditional craftsmanship - conserving, restoring and carefully enhancing. Historic room structures were uncovered, authentic materials were used and characteristic details were renewed with respect for the existing building. The result is an ensemble of rooms full of atmosphere, depth and cultural density - a place for temporary living, encounters and culture, embedded between the past and the future.
A heartfelt thank you
The municipality of Vaduz would like to thank Beat Burgmaier and all those involved for their extraordinary commitment, their precision craftsmanship and their shared attitude in dealing with a valuable piece of Vaduz history. This award is not only a confirmation of the high architectural quality, but also a sign of what is possible when people work with care, passion and vision towards a common goal.
