Minigolf course being rebuilt and renovated
The municipalities of Vaduz and Schaan are planning a comprehensive renovation and modernization of the minigolf course at Schaanerstrasse 59. The joint project includes various structural improvements to further increase the attractiveness and functionality of the popular leisure facility.
No major maintenance work has been carried out since the existing facility was built in 2009. During a joint inspection, it was determined that various elements were in need of renovation and that there was potential for modernization. The aim is to maintain the facility in the long term, increase comfort for visitors and ensure better operation even in unfavorable weather conditions.
The planned measures include
- Roofing of the outdoor terrace area
- Installation of a sliding glass wall in the existing covered area
- Additions and adjustments to the façade
- Electrical work inside and outside, including new site lighting
- Installation of a photovoltaic system to generate its own electricity
- Adaptations in the kitchen area
- Environmental work and adaptation of lane no. 7 (disabled access)
- Renewal of the heating system
- Adaptation of the fence on the east side
The total costs for the project amount to CHF 920,000 (incl. VAT) and will be divided between the two municipalities according to the existing distribution formula. Both municipalities have already included the corresponding amounts in the 2026 budget.
Construction is scheduled to begin in December 2025 and be completed in April 2026, meaning that the mini golf course can be reopened in time for the new season. As Schaanerstrasse will be redesigned and closed to traffic by spring 2026 anyway, it makes sense to schedule the work on the minigolf course during this time frame. The course will remain closed during the construction phase.
By renovating and converting the minigolf course, the municipalities of Vaduz and Schaan are contributing to the long-term preservation of a popular leisure facility and creating improved conditions for visitors.
