New car-sharing service in Vaduz
Mobility is quality of life—yet increasing traffic and environmental pollution pose major challenges. Through the car-sharing model, the municipality combines environmental protection, innovation, and a commitment to service. Residents remain mobile—flexibly, conveniently, and sustainably.
A proven model in the region
Sponti-Car GmbH, based in Altendorf, already operates over 60 locations in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. In Liechtenstein, vehicles are successfully in use in Ruggell, Schaan, and Triesen and show good utilization rates. This proven model is now also being implemented in Vaduz.
The vehicle in Vaduz is a fully electric Renault ZOE. It will be stationed at the parking lot of the Städtle 22 property, where a suitable charging station is already in place. The vehicle is available to the public around the clock—24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Attractive Terms of Use
Usage is charged at tiered rates ranging from CHF 3.00 to CHF 8.00 per hour, depending on the duration of the booking. This makes carsharing a cost-effective alternative to owning a vehicle—especially for occasional trips.
How the rental works
Using the vehicle is simple and managed digitally.
- Registration: Interested individuals can register online via the website sponti-car.ch or through the Sponti-Car app. After successful registration and a driver’s license check, access is granted.
- Booking a vehicle: The vehicle in Vaduz can be conveniently reserved via the app or the online platform. The desired rental duration is specified in advance.
- Unlock the vehicle and drive off: The car is unlocked using the app or a personal access card. The car key is inside the vehicle. After the trip, the vehicle must be returned to the Städtle 22 location and connected to the charging station.
- Billing: Billing is automatic based on the reserved usage period.
With this service, the municipality of Vaduz is creating real added value for its residents and setting another example for sustainable mobility and future-oriented community development.
