Strict ban on fires in the forest and near the forest
Due to the ongoing drought and high temperatures, there is a high risk of wildfires in Liechtenstein (Level 4 out of 5). Therefore, effective Wednesday, June 24, 2026, until further notice, there is a complete ban on fires in the forest and near the forest.
Lighting open fires is prohibited. This also applies to all barbecue areas in and near forests—including permanently installed fire pits. In addition, smoking materials and lighters must not be carelessly discarded.
The severe drought is due to below-average rainfall in recent months and the ongoing hot weather. The situation is not expected to improve until substantial rainfall occurs.
