A portrait of a former mayor has been added to the gallery of ancestors in Vaduz Town Hall. Yesterday, Mayor Florian Meier and former mayor Manfred Bischof unveiled the painting by artist Giuliano Scherini at a small ceremony.

Since the Riethof farm's existing stable building was built 25 years ago, the rules and regulations for animal husbandry have changed, among other things. In order to comply with the current regulations and enable the farm to operate in line with the times, the stable building is to be converted, renovated and extended.

Various locations were examined to determine a possible site for the realization of a solar folding roof system and the Spoerry factory road was defined as a suitable location. Following the preparation of a preliminary study, the project is to be implemented and completed by November 2025.

In recent years, the Spania area in Vaduz has repeatedly experienced landslide events and subsequently a landslide. Parallel to the immediate measures to protect the properties located there, permanent protection measures were developed on behalf of the Office for Civil Protection.

In the mayoral by-election on August 25, 2024, Florian Meier (FBP) was elected the new mayor of Vaduz with 1,397 votes. The voter turnout was 52.15 percent. The election was necessary because Petra Miescher announced her resignation in May 2024.

The municipality of Vaduz is supporting those affected by the storms in Switzerland with donations totaling CHF 100,000.00 to the Liechtenstein Red Cross and the neighboring canton of Graubünden "Region Moesa".

From August 27, 2024, parents and children aged 3 and over are invited to a "Join in Play Day" on Tuesdays between 01.30 and 03.00 pm and on Thursdays between 09.00 and 10.30 am. Parents will receive practical information on how to prepare their children for kindergarden and school.
